The Cleggan to Inishbofin Swim:Feilim O'Maolain is the first person to swim from the Aran Island (Kilronan) to Galway (Blackrock in Salthill) a distance of 24 miles which he swum in 14 hours 59 minutes. He has also swum the backstroke further than anyone else has ever swum when he did the English Channel in very bad conditions. He received an award from the British Government for his very brave effort. |
